FG increases the price of single-phase and three-phase electricity meters

Starting November 15, 2021, the federal government will increase the price of single-phase and three-phase electricity meters.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission sent a circular on November 11, 2021, to all managing directors, all electricity distribution firms, and all meter asset providers, informing them of the decision. 

The circular was titled ‘Review of the unit pricing of end-use meters under the Meter Asset Provider and National Mass Metering Regulations,’ and it had the reference number NERC/REG/MAP/GEN/751/2.

The regulator increased the price of a single-phase meter from its existing price of N44,896.17 to a revised price of N58,661.69 in the document. 

It also raised the price of a three-phase meter from N82,855.19 to N109,684.36.
